The XP500 series from Eaton, developed specifically for the needs of the machine building and plant engineering industries, enhances the field of automation with the contemporary and familiar control interfaces and operating controls that are now prevalent in consumer electronics. Projected Capacitive Touch (PCT) technology provides intuitive ease of use, and the multitouch functionality allows users to press functional buttons on the screen either with multiple fingers on one hand or using two hands. Just like on modern touchpads and smartphones , the operator can zoom into and scroll across elements and documents from the integrated help system using two fingers. The high-precision sensors prevent unintended commands or machine starts. For example, critical functions can only be activated by pressing multiple control fields at the same time, significantly enhancing system safety in comparison to single-touch panels. XP500 Panel PCs run on Windows Embedded 7. The devices are available with the following three widescreen display sizes: 10.1z, 15.6z, and 21.5z. Their slim design, featuring a non-reflective glass front, delivers a modern look. Thanks to the rugged , scratch-resistant front and open device concept on the Panel PCs make them suitable for use in almost all branches of industry involved in mechanical and plant engineering.
