Domotics, also known as home automation or smart home technology, refers to the integration of electrical and electronic systems within a residential or commercial building to enhance comfort, energy efficiency, security, and convenience. In the industrial and technical context, domotics involves the centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), shading, audio/video, and security systems through programmable logic controllers (PLCs), bus systems (e.g., KNX, DALI, Modbus), or wireless protocols (e.g., Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi). Key components include actuators, sensors (temperature, humidity, motion, light), control panels, gateways, and interfaces for human-machine interaction (HMI). These systems operate at typical voltages of 24V DC or 230V AC, with communication buses ensuring reliable data exchange. The term "domotics" is widely used in Europe, while "home automation" is common in North America, and "smart home" is a global synonym.
Domotics systems are deployed in a wide range of environments, including private residences, apartment complexes, office buildings, hotels, and healthcare facilities. In residential settings, they manage lighting scenes, automated blinds, climate control, and security alarms. In commercial buildings, domotics integrates with building management systems (BMS) to optimize energy consumption, monitor occupancy, and control access. Industrial applications include smart factories where environmental conditions are regulated for sensitive equipment. The technology is also critical in assisted living facilities, where it supports elderly or disabled individuals through automated alerts and remote monitoring.
Within the category of domotics, Electric Automation Network offers a comprehensive range of products, including control units, sensors, actuators, and interfaces. Key subcategories include bus systems like KNX components (e.g., binary inputs, dimming actuators, power supplies) and wireless solutions (e.g., Zigbee gateways, Z-Wave modules). Specific article codes often follow a structured format, such as "MY-HOME-XXX" for My Home series, where "XXX" denotes the function (e.g., "001" for a basic actuator, "002" for a sensor). Other relevant items include smart thermostats, motorized curtain controllers, and IP-based cameras. These products are designed for modular installation in standard electrical cabinets or flush-mounted boxes.
Partnering with Electric Automation Network ensures access to a vast inventory of domotics components with real-time pricing and express worldwide shipping. Our team of specialized engineers provides personalized technical support, assisting with system design, component selection, and troubleshooting. Each product includes detailed technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and compatibility guides. Whether you are retrofitting an existing building or designing a new smart home, we offer the expertise and logistics to streamline your project.
