The iC2-Micro series from Danfoss Drives represents a new generation of compact, air-cooled frequency converters designed for precise motor control in industrial and commercial applications. These variable frequency drives (VFDs) are available in single-phase and three-phase input configurations, with power ratings typically ranging from fractional horsepower up to several kilowatts. Key technical specifications include adjustable output frequency, integrated PID control, and support for various motor types such as induction and permanent magnet motors. The drives feature built-in EMC filters, DC choke options, and multiple communication protocols including Modbus RTU. With a compact form factor and DIN rail or panel mounting options, they are ideal for space-constrained installations. The series includes models with different amperage ratings, from 1.2A to 43A, and voltage classes for 200-240V and 380-480V systems.

These frequency converters are widely deployed in sectors such as HVAC, water and wastewater treatment, material handling, packaging, and general machinery automation. Typical applications include controlling fans, pumps, conveyors, compressors, and mixers where variable speed operation improves energy efficiency and process control. The iC2-Micro series complies with international standards including IEC 61800-3 for EMC, IEC 61800-5-1 for safety, and UL 508C for North American markets. They are fully compatible with Danfoss VLT automation drives ecosystem and can be integrated with PLCs and SCADA systems via fieldbus interfaces. The drives support Danfoss' proprietary VLT Motion Control Tool for parameterization and commissioning.
