The Megamax-Emax rack series from ABB comprises a comprehensive range of open-frame circuit breakers designed for use as main protection switches in electrical installations, power lines, and complex industrial applications. These devices serve as primary protection for electrical machines including generators, transformers, motors, and capacitors. The Emax series is available in six distinct frame sizes—X1, E1, E2, E3, E4, and E6—with a maximum rated current of 6300A. They feature a modular design that simplifies installation and integration, saving both time and panel space. The circuit breakers offer a high degree of safety even under adverse conditions, with an external protection rating up to IP54, double insulation, and articulated safety interlocks. Key technical specifications include various pole configurations (3P and 4P), adjustable trip units, and a wide range of accessories such as undervoltage releases, shunt trips, and auxiliary contacts.
