Video door phones, also known as video intercom systems or door entry systems, are integrated communication devices designed for secure access control and visual identification at entry points. These systems typically consist of an outdoor camera unit with a call button, an indoor monitor or handset, and a power supply. Key technical specifications include camera resolution (e.g., 720p, 1080p), viewing angle (e.g., 90° to 170°), night vision capability (IR LEDs), audio duplex mode (half or full), and display size (e.g., 4.3 to 10" TFT LCD). They operate on low-voltage DC power (e.g., 12V or 24V) and may support PoE (Power over Ethernet) for simplified wiring. Systems can be wired (using 2-wire or 4-wire bus) or wireless (Wi-Fi or RF). Advanced models include IP-based video door phones with network connectivity, supporting remote access via smartphone apps.
