Series 7E Energy Meters by FINDER are compact, multifunction devices designed for precise measurement and monitoring of electrical energy consumption in single-phase and three-phase networks. These meters integrate advanced metrology with communication capabilities, supporting Modbus RTU (RS-485) and pulse output for remote data acquisition. They measure active, reactive, and apparent energy (kWh, kVARh, kVAh), along with instantaneous parameters such as voltage (L-N up to 277 V AC, L-L up to 480 V AC), current (up to 63 A direct or via CT), frequency (50/60 Hz), power factor, and total harmonic distortion (THD). The Series 7E features a backlit LCD display for local reading, MID certification for billing accuracy, and a compact DIN rail mount design (2 or 4 modules wide). They are available in direct connection (up to 63 A) or transformer-operated versions (via external CTs), with options for tariff control and demand management. Known globally as energy analyzers, power meters, or submeters, these devices are essential for energy efficiency and cost allocation in industrial and commercial facilities.
These energy meters are deployed in electrical distribution panels, main switchboards, and sub-distribution boards within industrial plants, commercial buildings, data centers, and renewable energy installations. They are used for submetering tenant consumption, monitoring HVAC systems, lighting circuits, and production machinery, as well as for verifying utility bills and implementing energy management systems (EMS). In automation environments, they integrate with PLCs, SCADA, and building management systems (BMS) via Modbus for real-time energy profiling and load shedding. Typical sectors include manufacturing, hospitality, retail, healthcare, and infrastructure, where precise energy data drives operational savings and sustainability compliance.
The FINDER Series 7E includes several subcategories: the 7E.23 (single-phase, direct up to 63 A, MID), 7E.24 (three-phase, direct up to 63 A, MID), 7E.28 (three-phase, CT-operated, MID), and 7E.38 (three-phase, CT-operated, with Modbus). Article codes follow the pattern 7E.xx.xxx, where the first two digits indicate the series and the next digits specify the model and accessories. For example, 7E.23.8.400.0012 denotes a single-phase meter with specific voltage and current range. Key accessories include RS-485 communication modules, pulse output modules, and current transformers (CTs) for extended range. These meters are available with or without MID certification, and with different display and communication options.
