ABB offer a quality range of differential switches, which do not have overcurrent protection as they focus primarily to protect the circuit against possible leakage current which they are directed straight to the ground. They are used in series with an MCB or even a fuse to protect them both as dynamic thermal stresses that puedanser harmful to the device.

As for their combined differential switches, integrated into a single device function to overcurrent protection of MCB and function of residual current. The RCBO is disconnected in cases where leakage current to ground or short circuits and overloads occur. One could say that they are self-protective until they reach a maximum short circuit current that comes in its specifications.
