Safety controllers are the core of the whole safety system DeviceNet because this driver has integrated the program that monitors the entire security system. Omron drivers allow to use them independently or integrated into a DeviceNet network.

Omron user can find 3 different series in this category: DST-ID, DST-MD and DST-MRD. They have 4 test pulse outputs, fast diagnostic LEDs, and their terminal clamp are removable for easy installation and removal

They differ mainly in the number of inputs for safety signals: the DST-ID series has 12, the DST-MD has 8 and DST-MRD has 4 inputs.

It also should be noted that:

• The DST-ID allows the mixed-mode operation.
• The DST-MD series has 8 solid state outputs.
• The DST-MRD series has 4 relay outputs.
